Sea and Excursions in Marina di Camerota

You can set off to explore nature taking a splendid walk until Porto Infreschi, capture breathtaking views from the promontory of Capo Palinuro, or stop for a scenic break on the Collina di Sant'Iconio (St. Iconio Hill), where you can ask for the exclusive Aperitrek, a special aperitif surrounded by nature.
If you are looking for more challenging adventures, the mountains of Cilento offer some exciting challenges! Just a 30-minute bus ride away, the peaks of Monte Bulgheria, Monte Cervati, and sacred Monte Gelbison await you.

Excursions and trekking

Excursion to the Costa degli Infreschi
The Costa degli Infreschi is a stunning place to explore on foot along a scenic trail that leads to the natural harbor of Infreschi. On the way back, you can take the boat and admire the coast from the sea. During the hike, you will discover prehistoric caves, hidden coves, and ancient areas for grain processing, all amidst breathtaking landscapes. The route has an elevation gain of 350 meters both uphill and downhill.
La Fenosa and Pineta di San Cono
The walk takes you to visit five watchtowers built in Saracen times and offers exciting views of the western coast of Marina di Camerota. Along the way, you can admire beautiful beaches and the lush pine forest of Sant'Iconio, a place rich in history where, in the year 1000, Basilian monks extracted incense.
Molpa Hill and the Capo Palinuro Promontory.
This walk will introduce you to all the beauties of Cape Palinuro, known since ancient times and popular with such illustrious figures as Cicero and Brutus. The route ends with an evocative boat return, offering an experience filled with history and nature.
The Timpa del Piombo and the Masseta coast.
The excursion allows you to discover the beautiful coastline of the Park, located in the Gulf of Policastro, and to visit the impressive Sanctuary of Pietra Santa along with the village of Scario. The tour concludes with a return by bus, for a pleasant closure to the day.
Excursion to Monte Sant'Antonio and Monte Sant'Iconio
Setting off on foot from the hotel, you will reach the locality of Sinna, where you can see the ancient building of the "100 cammarelle". In Sinna, you will visit the Vecchio Frantoio Giannoccari (Old Giannoccari Oil Mill), then continue to the plateau of Vistieli passing through Ricella. Here, you arrive at the Oasi di Castaneto, where you have breakfast. The route continues to the village of Camerota, from which you return by bus.
The Sentiero dei Briganti (Trail of Brigands)
After a short bus ride to Borgo di San Severino, we follow the old abandoned railway.
The path climbs along the Tragara, offering breathtaking views of the Mingardo River gorges. Once at Epitaffio, you can admire the Castelluccio and, from a distance, the sea of Palinuro with the Natural Arch. The journey continues to Passo dell'Annunziata, where you visit the sanctuary of the same name and enjoy breakfast. The route concludes in the village of Licusati, passing through ancient olive trees, true monuments of nature. Return by bus.
Excursion to Monte Bulgheria
After reaching the town of San Giovanni by bus, we start climbing to the summit following the ancient hermit's path. The trail passes through the Lequa woods, offering spectacular panoramic viewpoints overlooking the coves, the Gulf of Policastro and the Piana del Bussento. Once you reach the summit, take a break for breakfast, then walk down toward San Giovanni, passing through the areas of Stazzi Lequa and Montagna.

Cilento beaches and coves

Baia degli Infreschi
This hidden gem can only be reached by sea or via scenic trails, and is perfect for people seeking a peaceful setting. Its beauty earned it the 2014 award for Italy's most beautiful beach from Legambiente.
Cala Bianca
This stunning paradise beach, with white pebbles and turquoise waters, is surrounded by unspoiled nature. Voted Italy's most beautiful beach by Legambiente in 2013, it is accessible only by a trekking path, as boat docking is not allowed. This makes it a place of absolute tranquility.
Pozzallo Beach
Pozzallo Beach is the first stop for people who are walking along the Infreschi trekking trail. Characterized by pebbles and a rather deep seabed, it can be reached either on foot via the trail or by boat. Additionally, there is a refreshment point on the beach, perfect for a break during the excursion.
Mingardo Beach
Mingardo Beach stretches for several kilometers. It features coarse sand mixed with small pebbles and isn’t particularly sticky. The sea water is very deep; just a few steps in, and you can no longer touch the bottom.
Capogrosso Beach
Capogrosso beach is another nature wonder given to the Cilento coast. The beach is separated from Cala d'Arconte by a rock wall, and even Capogrosso beach is surrounded by nature. Again, it is possible to reach the beach on foot along a route called the Sentiero del Mediterraneo, which starts in Maratea and can be taken from Calanca beach, near our hotel.
Spiaggia delle Saline
This beach is located in Palinuro and is ideal for those who love sand and shallow waters. In fact, the sand on the Saline beach is very fine and golden as well, and the sea features crystal-clear waters and shallow sandy bottoms. The water, in summer, is warm because of the shallow depth of the sea water.
Baia del Buondormire
This small cove is located on the promontory of Capo Palinuro and features a fine, golden sandy beach near the scoglio del Coniglio. Behind it rises an impressive sheer rock wall, while the sea showcases stunning shades of blue. The cove is accessible from Marinella Beach via pedal boats, canoes, or small boats, offering a unique experience surrounded by nature.

Archaeological sites

Paestum
Famous for its perfectly preserved Greek temples, Paestum is an archaeological site of extraordinary importance. In addition to the temples of Hera and Poseidon, you can visit the museum that displays artifacts from the ancient city.
Velia
Another important archaeological site, known for being the cradle of the Eleatic school of philosophy. Velia is renowned for its fascinating ruins, embraced by nature.

Monasteries and mysterious caves

Certosa of San Lorenzo in Padula
One of the largest monasteries in Europe, with cloisters, frescoes and a historic library. A true masterpiece of Baroque architecture and art.
Caves of Castelcivita and Pertosa
These karst caves provide a spectacular experience, featuring stalactites, stalagmites, and pathways winding through the earth. The Pertosa-Auletta Caves also include a fascinating boat ride stretch.
